The Carrera 1300R

THE CARRERA 1300R

The Concept

What if the Porsche started manufacturing motorcycles? Maybe not manufacturing, instead designing a Porsche version of the Hayabusa. The Hayabusa would be a sleeker looking, more powerful performance motorcycle. It could have the ability to crank out over 235hourse power! Also it would carry the name "Porsche", which is one of the top performing manufactures in the world! Why could this be an impossible concept? "Considering, Shelby did it with the Mustang?"

This is what the bike builder Maurice Dillard was thinking when he created the idea to build "The Carrera 1300R"! Many bike builders/fabricators has built custom motorcycles. However, frequently they forget to place emphasis on the performance part of the bike. When Maurice Dillard built "The Carrera 1300R" his goal was to go in the opposite direction of other Bike builders and Fabricators. Example, The frame and swing arm is painted    -vs- powder coated. The front forks are disassembled and powder coated. He uses very little chrome as possible. As well as nothing bigger than a 240 tire so the bike could still perform well with a 6in stretch. Finally, he used chrome on the dash and bolts to compliment the features by enhancing the look of "The Carrera 1300R!" Maurice Dillard's  sole attention was for

"The Carrera 1300R" to look and belong on the track as well as a showroom floor!

The Build

First, the removal of the stock exhaust system. The exhaust was replaced it with a "Brock Alien Head Full System "14in Muffler." Maurice has a great admiration for "Brock pipes and Performance products." Once that process was completed he began to enter the bike into bike shows. He soon realized that the Brock pipe wasn't showing the complete quality he was searching for. Maurice wanted the pipe to be the centerpiece of the bike! Admirers of his work insisted he change the pipe, but Maurice had other intensions. There wasn't any other pipe he would consider using on his bike! Then he decided to continue his research to see if there was an alternative pipe in comparison. The answer was simply 'No!' In his research he discovered ceramic coating had never been used on a Brock pipe, which prompted him to do exactly that using a white ceramic coat. The ceramic coating served two essential functions, style and performance!

"The Carrera 1300R" also featured a HealTech. An advanced "Smart" TRE, The Dynojet Power Commander III, K&N Air filters and three products from 'Chrome Galfer Platinum' including the Clutch Master cylinder line and Front/Rear brake lines.

The final product went through four different paint jobs, before Maurice met with the Owner/Operator 'Lorne Milz' of Overtwo Customs in Lawrenceville, GA. After meeting with Lorne Milz, the producing of the bike began to take form. Maurice gave Overtwo Customs complete control of creativity over the paint scheme that would enhance the concept of the bike.

Maurice wanted the paint scheme to be stylish and swift. He already had the main the colors Synergy Green off the 2010 Camaro with white and silver. He wanted the bike to have a diverse appearance and energy of being on a track with the feel of the streets to it. The bike had to have the appealing ability to be shown on a showroom floor. Also to allow a person to go to an dealership and say " Give me that Bike," because its one of the fastest production motorcycles in the world. Including all the upgrades you could ask for.

As far as the body Lorne and Maurice decided not to make too many changes due to his love for the first generation Hayabusa. The fabrication on the front head light we consulted George Hatziyianis the owner of Fat300 Cycles, George designed a double stack head light that altered the front of the bike to a more European style look. The digital gauges on the tank are by Koso North America they display the same function as my dash TAC, speed, mileage, fan control, fuel etc... The gauges were put in a tank cover for easier removal of the electronics without having to remove the tank. This feature actually gives the bike a car like feel when you are riding.

"When I built this bike I tried to go in the total opposite direction of what other fabricators were doing. "

The Carrera 1300R will soon have some major changes, such as trying to get as much horsepower as possible on a pump of gas. Also a reliable daily rider for that we will be turning to carpenter racing 235hp is the goal. We will be replacing the dash with a more update Digital Dash

The swing arm was design by Myrtle West Customs in Myrtle Beach, SC it is a 6in over 240 with a custom under brace to give it more stability, the rear rim is a stock look alike 240 rim the back tire is PIRELLI DIABLO 240/40ZR18 the Chain is a 530x150 ZZZ GOLD Chain front sprocket is a 240 Offset Sprocket 530-16 Tooth sprocket the rear sprocket is a VORTEX REAR SPROCKET which I had powder coated white instead of chrome. Maurice believes that chrome is shiny but color has heart.
